Mommy is so proud! It's a turtle, it's on her shin, and it's henna. She loves it - she sat perfectly still while it was applied and wore the henna paste for the reccommended 3 hours while it dried. I think she's going to love tattoos like her Momma! Chris and I got ones too - Chris got a sun/ying yang (I keep telling him it's hot and he should get a real one, but I don't think he's buying it), and I got a flower.
We are now back in Maui and have traded in our spacious condo for a two room "suite", but it is right on the beach, which evens things out a little.
Our last days in Kona were good. Emma's arm was better in a matter of hours and she was good to go for the Lu'au, which was neat. It was pretty commercial, but there were some dancing performances that were pretty cool, and a guy who did a fire dance. My favorite performance was a patriotic tribute to a song called "Freedom isn't Free"...the American crowd just ate it up - they even had military men in the audience stand up for an ovation. ...priceless.
We also went on a scuba cruice which was AWESOME. Basically you get on a boast and they take you out and feed you and there's a bar, and then they let you frolic in the ocean. Emma still doesn't want to go in the ocean (but loved the resort swimming pool!), so Chris and I took turns snorkelling and really enjoyed it. I saw a stingray swim right past me! We're looking into going on one here in Maui too.
I can't believe our we've been here a week already - I am having such a good time that it's all going so fast. Tomorrow we're taking Emma to the aquarium here, and she's so crazy for fish that I think it will go over pretty well.
I have internet full time for the rest of our trip, so I will post again tomorrow probably - feel free to email me too - I am interested to know what's up in the real world. Miss you all!

Emma on the snorkel cruise.

Emma with her "meow" - she was so sad to leave the kittens at the resort, but we did learn that they are getting a new home with some friends of our condo neighbors who live in Kona.

Emma and Mommy in St. Bennidict's "Painted Church" just outside of Kona - I beautiful church in the middle of the jungle (well, almost) where the parish priest painted the entire inside with murals in the late 1800's. See Em's tattoo??

Daddy and Emma on the plane from Kona to Maui.

There's a huge brush fire in Maui that started late last night...it's an amazing sight both in daylight and at night...there's not much that can be done about it and it is just raging.

Emma and her meow look adorable together. Nothing new going on here. Same old same old.
Nana got a new place, a apartment in Sooke, but she'll still be here when you guys get back.
