Unless you're living under a rock, or in a cave, and have no Internet access then you know that the final book in the Harry Potter saga will be released on Saturday. I am really, really excited, and have been prepping myself...I saw the movie of book 5 last weekend, I am currently re reading book 6, and I have ordered my copy of book 7 from Amazon, to be delivered on the release date, thanks to "special shipping". Extreme? Nah!
I wasn't always a proud Muggle...I had seen the first 3 movies, and while I enjoyed them, I just didn't understand the mania. Then, when the 6th book came out Shauna convinced me that I had to read the series, so I started...and I had finished them all within a week and a half. They're really that good. And I know book 7 is going to be great, though I am sure I will also be disappointed with it, since it is the final story, and I will be withing there could be more.
Whether you're a fan, or one of those fundamentalists who are convinced that Harry Potter is the work of the devil because it's about magic (don't even get me started on this! It's ignorant. It's a story people!), you're not going to be able to escape Potter-mania over the next few days. Me? I am just going to do my best to avoid spoilers, and hope that Emma takes lots of naps over the weekend so that I can have some more time to read.

I pre-ordered my book for tonight (friday night) but I can first pick it up on Monday due to prior engagements.... ie. drinking!. So, Monday, I'm a Harry Potter geek!!!
DUDE! I spent the weekend watching all the Harry Potter movies (except the recent one in the theatres)! I'm one of you now! :o)
I finished the book! Picked it up yesterday and locked myself inside until I was done reading!
Hey, could I borrow your copy when you are done? I was planning on getting if from the library, but they are apparently going on strike with EVERY other union in vancouver.
