What were you doing at 4am???

Me? I was chilling in my flooded apartment. That's right, FLOODED!!
I was abruptly woken up at 3am when Chris came rushing into Em's room (I had fallen asleep with her), and informed me that water was everywhere. I got up, confused, thinking it was morning, and sure he was over-reacting. Boy was I wrong!! I realized this when I encountered soaking wet squishy carpet in Em's room, and followed it down the hall into the kitchen, where the water was everywhere, and ankle deep....the bathroom was the same, the living room carpet was 80% soaked, the hallway was soo wet, and the carpet in Em's room was about 50% covered....so basically, the majority of the apartment!!
What happened? Well, sometime between when Chris conked out at about 1am, and when he woke up to a weird "splashing, gushing" noise at 3am the hot water tube disconnected and started spraying. Good times.
The living room....the pictures just don't do it justice....

The hallway.....Mom using the wet vac....sylin' at 4am ain't she??Emma, confused, but chill...she was pretty good about the whole commotion, and thought it was fun that mommy, daddy, uncle Aaron, grandma and grandpa were all playing with water at night time. I am paying for it a bit today though, as she is a little tired and cranky. Here's what's going on now...the majority of the work was done last night, using the wet vac to suck up more than 300 litres of water (Aaron counted)...at that point it was to late to keep going, and it was left until today when my Mom and Dad rented the fans you see, pulled up the carpets and now all we can do is wait for them to dry. It may take a day or two or three. Crazy.

Sucks to that dude. How are Chris's electronics? Were they effected? Is it concrete under the carpet or wood?
I feel for you, I would not want to have to deal with that!

Actually, we got lucky...the water sort of spread around the TV and stereo and all of that. But the place it still pretty wet, and now it's smelly too. I am told the smell will go when it all dries - it better!!
Oh, and it's concrete under the carpet.
