Emma's 3rd birthday party was today. This year Emma dictated how she wanted things to go. She wanted her friends, she wanted to play, and she wanted cupcakes, so I did would I could to make that happen :)
We took over Grandma's house this morning and set up for the party...I set up a couple of play stations for the kids. One with a painting craft, one with coloring, and one with play-dough.

My cupcake army (Em requested a Dora and Diego theme). Thanks Thrifty's!!

Emma at the painting station...the kids all got little wooden boxes to paint and take home.

Chris got creative too.

"Look Auntie Deedee!!"- Ethan taking a juice break

Emma, Riley, and Grandma rocking the play-dough table.

After some play time it was downstairs to the suite for bouncy castle time. Shauna caught this pic of Emma mid-bounce, and I love it. The look on Em's face is both odd and priceless. I can't believe she's going to be 3 in just 3 days.

After burning off some energy, it was back to Grandma's house for snack time. We had all of Emma's requests: Cheese, pickles, rice crackers, carrots, fruit, and juice boxes. It wasn't all "healthy choice" though - snack time was wrapped up with the above pictured cupcakes, which were a big hit. (Oh and around the table from L to R: Michael, Christiana, Emma, Riley, and Ethan)

Finally it was time for a pinata filled with goodies for loot bags, and a wee bit more play....then the party disbanded due to all participants being in dire need of nap time. Especially the grown ups!!

I am glad that she had a good day, and it looks like the theme party worked out pretty well!
Way to go Mom!
