I hurt children....

Well, my own child anyway.
Yesterday Emma and I were playing on the bed in our room and I must have pulled on her arm too hard because she just started screaming. Long story short, several hour in the hospital tells us it's not broken but probably has a pulled muscle....she doesn't seem to be in as much pain now, but she is still favoring it. I will never get over the guilt and took her and bought her some toys at the Walmart today to make up for it.
We're on the "Big Island" now....on the Kona Coast, and it's beautiful here. No internet in the room, but there is wireless in the lobby, so that's where I am now, huddled at a table. The resort we are at is great, and we have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with a washer/dryer and a fully stocked kitchen. It's actually beyond fabulous. When we arrived in town we had some time to kill before check-in, so went to Costco for supplies. It was really just like our Costco at home except for one glaring difference: BOOZE!!! I seriously just about shed a tear as I explored the 3 aisles filled with all the alcohol you can imagine. And so cheap. Langford Costco NEEDS to get alcohol. Needless to say, I stocked up!
We have been to see the volcano, which was a kick, have been on a glass bottomed boat ride over the reef, and tonight we will be going to a Lu'au, so I will post pictures of that when I can. On the way to the volcano, which is on the other side of the island from where we are staying we made a few tourist stops - one at the black sand beach (everything here is black lava rock - so beautiful to see the waves crashing into the shore) where sea turtles nest, and we were able to get up close to one in the water, which was so cool. There is apparently another beach near us with lots of turtles, so we are planning to check it out tomorrow.
One thing that has suprised me about being here in the US....the Coke is yummy! Anyone who knows me knows I am a Pepsi girl, but the Coca Cola here is soooo good, and I can't get enough - What's with that?
Anyway, enough for now. I will try to post again before we leave Kona on Friday, but i will have internet in my room when we're in Maui again, so it might have to wait until then.
Happy Belated Birthday to Nathan - we meant to post yesterday, but I hurt babies, so we were tied up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAN!!!!
Love and kisses - we miss you all!!!
Mommy finally gets her drink!

The living room in our condo.

There are three wild kittens outside our room that Emma has made friends with.

Black Sand Beach

This is as close as we could get to the flowing lava at the volcano - you can hike out over the lava flow to see it up close, but it's several miles and we didn't think Emma would dig it. The steam from the lava hitting the water caused huge clouds that just hover over the volcano.

Hello Emma (and her parents),

I loved seeing the pictures of you and the kittens...I asked grampa but he says no more cats...sorry!

It was fabulous to see Mommy's picture of her with her lai and drink in hand. Can't think of another mother who works so hard and deserves the treat like she does.

One word of advice though, you should talk to daddy and see if there is a way to keep mommy out of the Costco...they sell bad stuff there!

Grampa and I miss you very much, be safe and remember that Grandma has asked for special angels to watch over you in Hawaii.

PS, They watch over mommy and daddy too!
