Well, we're having fun here in Van: The picture above shows the view from our hotel window, and Emma just loves it. She calls it the "big city", and she has informed us that "George" is out there...for those of you who don't have a wee one, she means Curious George, who, in the recent cartoon movie, left the jungle to follow the man in the yellow hat to the "big city". So every time we leave the hotel we are on a hunt for George. Emma is especially enamored with the central library, which we have a nice view of, and is only about a block away. In fact, we took her there this evening and she put on quite the show of a temper tantrum when it was time to leave. She must get her love of books from me.
Today was cold and grey and it rained like mad, so I took Em to Science World. It was a zoo, but she seemed to have a very good time. The special area for children under 6 is genius: water tables, slides, trains, blocks, balls...the works. Also, there is an exhibit on called Bodyworks 3, in which actual human remains are on display. It sounds kinda gross, and I guess it kinda was, but it was cool too. I saw things I couldn't believe: including a smoker's lung next to a non-smokers lung, which was seriously disturbing (yeah, I have seen the anti-smoking commercials before, but this was REAL). Anyway, check it out if you want: http://www.scienceworld.bc.ca/bodyworlds/
Don't know what the plan for tomorrow is yet, but we'll figure it out.
