Yes, this post is a day early, but I want to make sure it gets done, and I don't want to get so busy here in Van that I neglect one of my best gals' birthday!
Rie and I go way back...back to 1994/1995 and the Spencer School tennis courts, where we chilled and smoked and thought we we so cool (we were- believe me)...there is only one other friend I have that I have know as long (Yes, Harpaul I mean you - you were there - admit it!).
Anyway, fast forward through a decade: Camping at Goldstream, Grade 10 science class, Belmont, the Big K Deli, Mrs. McKenna, getting "married" while intoxicated (this one is quite a tale), Whitespot, and we were STILL smoking...beakups, makeups, pregnancy (mine, not hers) and a wedding (Glenda's, not ours).
Even though Rie has been living in Denmark since 1997 (so, for the majority of our friendship really) it's nice to know I can still call her my buddy and that she will be there to listen if I need it.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIE!! Hope it's a good one. I owe you a couple of drinks next time you're in the country.

We do go way back, don't we? It's funny to think back to those days (where we were young!)and all the things we've done. And then to think about the days now - so much has happened in all those years!
