Some Pictures from my weekend!

Friday night, Chris and I took Emma to her FIRST hockey game...it was an Old Timer's Hockey Challenge for charity...featuring a few past Canucks such as Dave "Tiger" Williams and Cliff Ronning. The Memorial Centre was barely half full, and she only made it through 2 periods, but she had a great time. Maybe she'll be ready for a Canucks game next season???

Her fave meal...french fries and chicken strips...with LOTS of ketchup.

Here she's displaying a knack for team spirit...

Today my Mom and I took Emma to the CBC Kids' Set for Life Adventure...I didn't know what to expect from this, because I had heard about it online and had no idea what it was about, but the tickets were only $5, so I went for it. I'm glad I did...it was a stage show for preschoolers (I can't believe she falls into that group now!) during which the kids "go on a hunt across Canada" for Curious George. It featured two of the CBC's children's programing hosts, plus cartoon characters Lunar Jim and Curious George. Emma really seemed to like it. There was music, dancing, and there was lots of "Rah Rah Canada!!", so that was cool (Yes, I am okay with my child being brainwashed into a true north strong and free lover!!).

Before the show there was coloring, books, toy blocks, and dress-up in the lobby...here's Emma dressed up as a princess.

Here's a picture of the action on stage.

All of the kids were made Kid Canada superheroes as they "helped" find George...they all got headbands and little Canada flags to wave. So cute.

Some other news: I got the letter yesterday, offering Emma a spot at the Maria Montessori Academy, for the full time 3/4 year old program. I was really hoping she'd get this, as I would rather see her do this than daycare. But now I just have to figure out what the frack to do with myself while she is in school 5 days a week. Any suggestions?

Who doesn't love fries and chicken strips?
Congrats on the montessori school, does she start next year? That gives you lots of time to think about what the heck you are going to do with yourself.
Speaking of which, what are you doing Sunday morning?
