Actually, being 28 hasn't been too bad...

Well, first of all, as some of you already know I got the most wicked birthday gift...A HOUSE!!! Chris and I applied for the Langford affordable housing program the week before my birthday because they were choosing people for a new batch of houses, and we got one!! So, so, so fantastic...it will be completed November 1st, and it will cost us well under $200,000, which is obscene considering the housing market these days.....And here is Glenda on the inside, checking things out.....As if all that wasn't good enough I got to spend Friday getting a pedi and hanging with Glenda, who I adore, then Saturday was a night for hanging and drinking....We started the evening with dinner downtown.

I met a very nice living statue.

Fishbowls....Yummmmmm!!After dinner we headed to the hotel suite that insurance has provided us with since our apartment is still in shambles...my parents have claimed it, but kindly gave it to us for Saturday night while they babysat Emma for us too. So we made a stop at the cold beer & wine and bought what I thought was going to way to much alcohol for 4 people and we settled in. Here's a sample...there was much more than just this, and it was all gone by the next morning :)

Not long after we got to the hotel Dan arrived....

Then it was time for shots.

Next came the champagne -Ain't I classy?

And after that I was too drunk to remember to take any pictures, but there was much fun had. The next morning, after nearly 2 hours sleep I dragged myself home...I then had to survive the morning looking after Emma (how dare they make me look after my own child) and the afternoon at the baby shower my mom was hosting at the house. But I made it, with the help of lots of Red Bull.

The baby shower was for my lovely sister in law Sarah, who is due next month. We don't know what she is having yet, but there will for sure be a post when the big day happens.

The kids were also at the baby shower - even little Sawyer! Emma got to hold Sawyer, which she was pretty excited about...for maybe 30 seconds, at which time she decided he was too heavy.

That's all I have to say today. I have a busy week ahead, working and getting ready for our vacation. We're heading down to Seattle for a few days, and we leave Friday morning. You know I am going post pics of our trip.
