Wednesday I came home to yet another reason to love where I live....

Can you see it there? Just down the road a ways....here's a close up....We got a trolley stop!! Now, if you don't know about the Langford trolley, here's the lowdown: A program, started by the city, the trolley is a ride by donation service, which runs a 1 hour loop through the Langford area. Last year the route serviced a route from Canwest Mall to Bear Mountain and back. This year a 2nd trolley has been added, one which will service the outer areas of Langford on a 2 hour loop. This is the route I am on. Emma and I are really looking forward to hopping on for rides this summer, as the trolley will make stops not only at the mall, but at the library and Langford and Thetis lakes.
Yesterday, Friday, Emma's class put on their Spring concert, titled Children Around the World. The group of preschool/kindergarten kids were divided into groups, each one representing a different continent. They all sang songs for each continent as well. This explains why Emma has been singing songs in Japanese and French around the house the past few weeks.
My boo represented Australasia. I think I spelled that right. I think the hat looks great on her, and when they sang their song (something about a dingo?) they did a little dance. This was my favorite part of the show, for obvious reasons, but Emma doing a little boogie-wiggle was the cherry on top.
After the show there were refreshments, and Emma ate many cookies.
After the show Chris took off for a little road trip with Dan, and I drove Emma to Grandma's house to have a sleep-over with Riley, Grandma and Grandpa. I then was all alone. No Chris. No Emma. Just me. For the first time since Emma's birth. I mean, sure, Emma has gone away before, but those nights usually meant chilling with my homies. And ya, Chris has taken Emma out for a few hours before, or even a whole day, but those times usually meant I was cleaning the house or something. Not this time! Alone. For 24 hours.
First I went and got my hair cut. I have bangs! Weee! A totally spur of the moment decision, and I like it. No pictures yet though. Then I went shopping and bought oodles. I have been saving for this shopping trip for awhile, as I have been working really hard to lose some weight lately. I won't give exact numbers, but I will say I am sooooo close to the weight I was at when I got pregnant with Em. It's taken 4 years, but it's awesome anyway. I love new clothes almost as much as I love Langford. I slept in this morning, and was feeling fantastic and well rested when Emma came home this afternoon. Then I took her to Subway and took this cute picture.
Here's hoping this fantastic weather sticks around for a long while - Happy Long Weekend to you!
